While I would like to call Greenville home, I currently reside in Augusta, Georgia. My move to Augusta was a result of my parents’ service in the US Army. Unlike most military brats this was the only move I had to experience during my parents’ service but my parents were away at times due to various deployments. This is when my love for the city of Greenville began.
My mother is originally from Greenville and all of my extended family still lives in the area. In addition to spending holidays here, whenever my parents were on deployment I spent time with family in the area. This constant travel to and from the city created an emotional tie. I never wanted to leave and slowly began to call Greenville home instead of where I actually lived.
I am currently a sophomore political science major at Clemson University. My decision to attend Clemson was heavily influenced by the time I spent in Greenville as a child. When I’m not in class or studying for school I enjoy playing tennis, going to Clemson sporting events, and spending time with friends.
I am excited to spend more time in the city that I love by interning at the Chamber. I am looking forward to learning more about the ways in which the chamber promotes economic development and business growth through my role as the economic competitiveness intern.
