“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
In my opinion, this quote by John Quincy Adams describes the efforts of Webster University as they prepare to host their 1st Annual Executive Leadership Series. This free community event is open to all community members, Upstate students from surrounding colleges, alumni, and supporters. It takes place from 6:00-8:00 p.m., November 1st through the 14th at the Greenville Metropolitan Campus of Webster University (124 Verdae Blvd., Ste. 400). The series topic is “Leading in Today’s Changing Environment”. This leadership series is a great opportunity for the Greenville community to come together for each session featuring a different focus area and panel of speakers. The breakdown of the series is as follows:
- Tuesday, November 1st: Banking and Finance
- Thursday, November 3rd: Healthcare and Administration
- Monday, November 7th: Human Resources
- Wednesday, November 9th: Economic Development
- Monday, November 14th: Non-Profit and Entrepreneurship
Attendees don’t need to register, but they can RSVP by calling (864) 676-9002 or emailing greenville@webster.edu. Refreshments will be served and vendors such as SAFY, Verizon, Godshall Staffing, The Urban League, Greenville Housing Authority, Hispanic Alliance, MAU, The United Way, and others will be on site each night presenting job and business opportunities. Our very own Carlos Phillips will be a panelist at the Economic Development discussion too! AND… if you attend all five nights of the series you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Jack Welch said, “Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” Webster University is bringing the before and after of this quote together for each of us- who’s ready?
