Best of Luck to Mark Cothran
Thursday, March 6, 2014on
After four years with the Greenville Chamber as Vice President of Public Policy, Mark Cothran's last day with the Chamber was last Friday. Mark will be working for his alma mater, Clemson University, where he will be the Associate Director of Government Affairs. It has been an honor to work with Mark for the last four years. His dedication and passion for creating a better economic climate in the Upstate was well known at the statehouse. Under Mark’s leadership, the Public Policy department has grown the Upstate Chamber Coalition from ten Chambers of Commerce to twelve, and receives recognition statewide for it’s ability to effect change at the State House. Mark has been a leader for many pro-business pieces of legislation, like the High Growth Small Business Job Creation Act. Together, we have seen the Upstate grow considerably in terms of economic development and it’s ability to compete with other areas of the state. I am excited to see what he is able to accomplish working with Clemson University. I know that he will continue to bring about positive change in South Carolina. All of us at the Chamber wish him the best of luck in his new endeavours. Despite these transitions, I look forward to further serving the Greenville Chamber members and the Upstate Chamber Coalition. Please contact me if you have any questions or issues.
