Get Involved with a Public Policy Committee

Posted by: Greenville Chamber on Wednesday, October 16, 2013
Are you looking for a way to get more involved with the Chamber or to get more plugged into the community? The Public Policy department has three different committees that meet on a monthly basis for an update – one or all of these committees might interest you. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES COMMITTEE The Environmental Issues Committee meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 8:00 am in the Greenville Chamber Boardroom. This committee is open to any Chamber member interested in environmental issues and how such issues can impact your business. Committee members drive the topics for each meeting, but topics range from combustible dust to DHEC updates. LEGISLATIVE ISSUES COMMITTEE The Legislative Issues Committee typically meets the 2nd Friday of each month at 8:00 am in the Greenville Chamber Boardroom. This committee is open to any Chamber member interested in the legislative process at the local, state, and federal levels of government and, more specifically, how legislation often impacts your business. This committee will keep you informed on pending legislation and serves as a good opportunity for members to develop relationships with their elected officials. This committee also plays an important role in helping the Chamber develop its legislative agenda for each legislative session at the SC Statehouse. TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE The Transportation Committee meets the 3rd Friday of each month at 8:00 am in the Greenville Chamber Boardroom. This committee is open to any Chamber member interested in issues related to transportation and infrastructure. This committee often hosts guest presentations on important issues such as air service, road projects, rail, the SC Ports Authority, etc. For more information on these committees, please contact Elizabeth Edwards or Mark Cothran.
