Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) is a program of Greenville Chamber's Diversity & Inclusion initiative that prepares high potential minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned businesses for growth and expansion through business development services, mentoring, targeted training, access to large corporations for partnership opportunities and custom roadmap to sustainable growth. MBA helps minority business enterprises overcome growth barriers and gain access to new opportunities, connecting them with the right resources and results-driven strategies to fuel their growth and build capacity.

The mission of the MBA Program is to build a more viable, diverse, inclusive and sustainable business culture throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. Central to achieving this mission will be the Minority Business Accelerator's ability to grow and strengthen its overall minority business enterprise base.

At this information session, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the 12-month MBA program and how to apply.

The Greenville Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator will use the award-winning and internationally-recognized StreetWise ‘MBA’™ curriculum1 created by Interise, to aid the business owners in developing a three-year Strategic Growth Action Plan™, which is customized to their individual business and details the strategies and tactics the owner and staff will take to increase revenue, financial management and improve access to capital. During the program, participants can expect to learn about:

  • Business development strategies
  • Strategic planning
  • Financial management and analysis
  • Human resources
  • Accessing capital
  • Securing corporate and government contracts

Our ideal candidates are tired of the status quo and looking to gain the business knowledge, skills and trusted networks needed to successfully grow and guide their businesses.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • $250,000 - $10 Million in annual revenue
  • At least one other full time employee besides the owner
  • Been in business for 3+ years
  • Socially/Economically disadvantaged business (minority-owned, women-owned), or small businesses located in lower income urban communities
  • Business must be headquartered or have a significant presence in one of the 10 counties of the Upstate, SC
