In Business: Aurora Farms

Aurora Farms is Greenville’s newest event venue and most unique barn venue in the area. We are conveniently located in the Taylors/Blue Ridge area on over 4 acres of luscious property just 11 miles northeast of downtown Greenville, South Carolina.

Our new 4,500 square foot venue offers an indoor seating capacity of 250 people and an outdoor event option on a beautiful back patio. This gorgeous open-plan venue features a commercial baking and prep kitchen, HVAC and heating throughout along with separate private dressing rooms for bridal parties. Its unique design allows in plenty of natural light, creating a perfect space for photographers, hair/makeup artists, and bridal parties.

With moving walls and sliding doors, Aurora Farms can be designed for any celebratory event, including weddings, receptions, anniversaries, birthday parties, holiday parties, reunions, corporate events, church events, charity events, and more.

Aurora Farms is owned and operated by Mike and Yvonne Fortner. The Fortner’s are the proud parents of a son, Steven, and identical twin daughters, Holly and Ashleigh. And as both daughters were married just five months apart, the two are extremely familiar with how difficult it can be to work within a limited budget.

The Fortner family was no stranger to events or weddings before the twins were married though. Yvonne’s twin daughters each run separate businesses. Ashleigh Howard runs her own baking business and Holly Goshorn owns a photography business. Additionally, Yvonne’s mother (Amy Ammons) is a successful event planner and storyteller, while Yvonne’s aunt (Doreyl Cain) is a busy portrait artist. With so many family members already serving as vendors to other venues, it was only a matter of time before the idea of running a family owned event venue crept into Yvonne’s head. Fast forward a few years and Aurora Farms was born.
