Diversity and Inclusion Summit Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Rebecca Heiss

Why does gender balance matter? Studies reveal that gender balance can boost business growth and increase a company’s competitive advantage. However, the statistics reported by Mckinsey Global Institute states that only 17 percent of women are members of executive committees and 19 percent of women are members of corporate boards. Dr. Rebecca Heiss, CEO/Founder of Rebecca Heiss, LLC, indicates that in the tech industry, men make up 61 percent of organizations’ board of directors. Observing this critical issue for female business leaders, at the Diversity & Inclusion Summit on October 17, Dr. Heiss will discuss the needed skill sets that women bring to management in a globalized economy and share specific examples of case studies where organizations are effective in their efforts to advance women.

Dr. Heiss has her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Memphis with research designated as “transformative” by the National Science Foundation. She has been employing her research to explain and resolve practical problems in overcoming what she refers to as “biological ghosts” – subconscious behaviors that haunt modern life. Dr. Heiss has not only applied biological science and brain science to eliminate blind spots in the business, but she also concentrates on revolutionizing the biology of business.

As a biologist, research, creative speaker and an entrepreneur, Dr. Heiss has helped her clients understand “whys” based on our actions as individuals and institutions. By utilizing insightful and impressive viewpoints, she empowered her clients to “connect the dots” to transform conceptual frameworks into actionable items that deliver results.
