What is supplier diversity? Why is it important for an organization to pursue supplier diversity? How does it drive a company‘s success and profitability? What does the supplier diversity program mean to you? What is the strategic procurement process?

If you are looking for answers to these questions, you will not want to miss this workshop at the Greenville Chamber‘s Diversity & Inclusion Summit on October 17, 2017. “Measuring Corporate Commitment through Executive Leadership” is all about supplier diversity and other business diversity initiatives that have been strategic developments for public and private sector entities for more than 40 years and they remain as leading edge business drivers. There is a wide range of components that drive and lead to profitability, cost competitiveness, corporate governance, employee retention, sustainable growth, product/service innovation, branding and corporate image. These all result from change initiatives that are necessary to ensure a position, either as leader or follower. Our facilitator, Silas L. Carter, who is a president at the Future Procurement Group, LLC with over 20-years of experience in global procurement management programs, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier diversity initiatives, cross-functional management and consulting, will disclose the benefits of supplier diversity strategies and how these strategies recognize the value of minority businesses as suppliers and strategic partners.

Knowing the significance of supplier diversity and challenges to companies who execute supply diversity strategies, Silas Carter developed supplier diversity programs for a company as a whole. These programs provide solutions for the internal business leaders, clients and suppliers in order to build successful and effective company culture diversity. He provides subject matter expertise regarding supporting client expectations and requirements, leading a corporate procurement team and assuring compliance of purchasing/sourcing competencies through audits and business forums in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.
