Meet the Team: Avery Wannemacher, New Business Advocacy Intern

Posted by: Avery Wannemacher on Tuesday, May 16, 2017

I am a junior Economics major at Pepperdine University, where I’m a member of Pi Beta Phi, a representative on our Student Philanthropy Council, and a tour guide on campus. I am originally from Greenville, SC, and I’m excited to be back to my roots for a few months after spending last semester studying abroad in Switzerland.

This summer, as the Business Advocacy intern, I will be assisting Katie and Jason in completing and compiling research, coordinating various Chamber events, and anything else I can. My first few weeks have already been quite exciting; I was able to go to the Statehouse twice, once on the day the Roads Bills became law! I’m looking forward to more hands-on experiences to come, increasing my knowledge of the issues facing Greenville and our state, and meeting individuals in the business community throughout the Upstate.

I play tennis, the cello, and I speak French (with a thick American accent). In my spare time, you can find me reading anything I can get my hands on, running through the neighborhood with my dog, or whipping up something sugary in the kitchen.

Please join us in welcoming Avery! She is sure to be a great addition to the Chamber and we cannot wait to see what she is able to accomplish!
-Jason and Katie
