Leadership Greenville Project Team #4 Needs YOU

Leadership Greenville Class 42 Project Team #4 is working with the Greenville County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (GCDSNB) to expand its Generous Garden and needs your help!

GCDSNB is a nonprofit charity whose person-centered programs provide support for more than 2,200 Greenville County individuals with disabilities (aged 2 months to 91 years) and their families. The individuals they support live with lifelong disabilities that include head and spinal cord injury, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Project Team #4 embarked on helping GCDSNB lay the foundation to erect a greenhouse that will expand their current operations to employ and train an additional 50 individuals in growing, cultivating, harvesting and selling vegetables, flowers and fruits at the TD Saturday Market on Main Street. This expansion will provide employability skills training for these individuals to help them achieve their goals of living more independently and contributing to the richness of the Greenville community.

Their goal is to raise $5000 by March 1st to support this initiative and they need your help. The funds raised will go directly to the Generous Garden expansion, including:

  • concrete for the foundation
  • greenhouse tarp
  • supplies for the raised beds
  • many other items required to successfully execute this project

There are a number of ways for you to contribute:

  • Donate via a check made payable to Greenville Chamber Foundation with memo line “LG42 GCDSNB” and remit to this address:

Thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of these individuals and their families.
