In Business: Golden Chick!

It’s hot outside and July 4th is almost here (hard to believe I know). What better way to celebrate the summer than with a good ol’ Southern style picnic! Load up the picnic basket with juicy, golden chicken tenders, fried and roasted chicken, catfish, garden salads, chicken salad and maybe some sides of green beans, corn on the cob, fried okra, dirty rice, mac and cheese, potato salad, and fruit salad, and don’t forget the bread- a fresh baked yeast roll sounds good. But wait, you don’t feel like slaving in the kitchen all day to prepare such a feast? No problem- Golden Chick is here! Conveniently located at 211 Pelham Road, Golden Chick, the Texas-based chicken legend that has prided itself on treating guests like family for the past 46 years, is celebrating the opening of their second location in the Upstate (the first is in Greenwood, and they have a third on the way). Franchisee Bob Sowinski is a Greenville resident who is very involved in Greenville community organizations including the Greenville Chamber. Sowinski is excited to bring Golden Chick to the Greenville community stating, “We pride ourselves on our continued dedication to deliver exemplary service to each of our guests. Paired with the most delicious southern-style menu in the industry, our inviting staff members will keep the Greenville community coming back for more.” The new restaurant is helping fuel Greenville’s community by creating 35 new jobs to the area. Sowinski follows the old philosophy of “Hire for attitude, train for skill,” when hiring team members at Golden Chick adding, “ We select only the people with the most inviting smiles who are energetic and always courteous to our customers,” and this shows every time I visit them. That said, when are we leaving for our picnic because I sure am hungry?
