Upcoming House Primary Elections

Local politicians are preparing for their upcoming elections, as the SC House of Representatives primary is rapidly approaching. The June 10th primary election will play a pivotal role in the direction in which South Carolina is headed. Ballots were set over the weekend with the March 30th filing deadline. In Greenville County House races, 18 candidates have filed, representing 12 districts. Uncontested candidates include Mark Willis (District 16- R), Dwight Loftis (District 19-R), Chandra Dillard (District 23- D), Garry Smith (District 27- R), Eric Bedingfield (District 28- R). District 26 is currently vacant. In District 17, Joshua Cook (R) will run against incumbent Mike Burns. Valerie Wade (R) will run against five-year House veteran Tommy Stringer (R) for District 18. Incumbent Dan Hamilton (R) will face Justin Alexander (R) and the winner will face Jon Eames (D & Green). Incumbent Phyllis Henderson (R) and Steve Mauriello (R) will run for the District 21 position. Democrat Dan Ruck will face incumbent Wendy Nanney (R) in District 22. In District 24, Bruce Bannister (R), who currently serves as the House Majority Leader, will face Bang Hall (R) and Gary Titcomb (R). Democratic incumbent Leola Robinson-Simpson is running against Independent Tony Boyce in District 25. We are excited about South Carolina’s future and Greenville’s excellent representation at the State House.  If you have not already done so, REGISTER TO VOTE! Greenville County residents can return the completed South Carolina Voter Registration Application to county office by mail or email.
