NEXT Entrepreneur Testifies Before Congress

Did you hear one of Greenville’s own NEXT entrepreneurs was called to testify before Congress?? Damien Stevens, founder and CEO of Servosity, a company providing backup and disaster recovery services to a network of technology companies through the US, was one of four executives who testified before the House Small Business Subcommittee of Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access recently. The hearing was to review private sector training and mentorship programs which help educate small business owners and entrepreneurs and to review their effects on small business growth and job creation. Stevens told the Congressmen that without the NEXT ecosystem, he would not have learned from other entrepreneurs and about opportunities for funding. In 2008, Stevens joined NEXT after just 3 years in business. Through NEXT, Stevens learned from other entrepreneurs of high impact, technology companies. Before he joined, Stevens says he made mistakes without having the benefit of learning from others in similar situations which are unique to these types of companies. Stevens told the House Subcommittee that without NEXT, he also would not have been able to grow the next stage to secure private investment or been introduced to potential investors nor attracted the talent required to grow Servosity. Check out the terrific testimony from Stevens about NEXT and Greenville by clicking on the link. Thanks for the shout out, Damien. You make us proud! Testimony Video
