In Business: Cornerstone Studios

The Shampoo Bowl “Go to the shampoo bowl” are words that I look forward to hearing weekly from my beloved hair stylists, Dolores Watkins Lewis, owner of Cornerstone Studios  Salon and Spa.  I’ve been a client now for several years. Throughout those years, my client/stylist relationship with Dolores grew into something much more unique. My weekly service experiences entailed more than a hairstyle and clean, healthy scalp. The shampoo bowl experience eventually began to reveal a deeper appreciation for the value I was getting from my stylist, which was so much more than just a cute “hair do.” Dolores is a person concerned just as much about the inner beauty as she is the outer beauty. That caring spirit exudes when you are at the shampoo bowl with her or in her styling chair. I quickly came to learn why my weekly visits were non-negotiable despite my hectic schedule. My weekly appointments were highly coveted by my girlfriends. Not only is Dolores extremely skilled in her discipline and talented beyond measure, she’s an astute business professional who pays keen attention to her clients and delivers impeccable service. She is also very accommodating and truly makes it her good pleasure to see to it that she has satisfied clients. The professionalism of her staff and salon environment is to be admired. To use the word AMAZING to describe the new space is an understatement! It was a proud moment to stand with her and share remarks of congratulations and support to my hair stylist and friend. I’ve seen her journey over the years and heard weekly about the vision she wrote for her business and witnessed how she worked tirelessly and prayed fervently to see it realized. She pursued her vision with a spirit of excellence which is clearly communicated the moment you step foot in the building. Every touch point was carefully thought out with Cornerstone’s clients in mind. Each stylist has a private room decorated to fit their personality.  Common areas are spacious and beautifully constructed to make you feel like you are retreating, even if it is just for a couple of hours. Congrats Dolores! I’ll see you at the shampoo bowl. Visit Cornerstone Studios Salon & Spa at 20 West Point Blvd., Mauldin, SC or call for an appointment, 864-286-9080.
